D2C enrich their formula with Twinfield Online Accounting

24/05/2005 00:00:00

Hertfordshire based consulting company, D Squared C limited (D2C) has just signed an exclusive agency contract with Twinfield International N.V. of the Netherlands to sell their no. 1 Online Accounting solution in the UK.

Twinfield is an international web service for real-time accounting, project, hours and expenses recording, reporting, budgeting, credit management, salary data and billing. Although designed to be easy to use for small businesses, the service is particularly suitable for (international) organisations working in multiple languages and currencies. Users can log into the Twinfield system from anywhere at any time via a secure Internet connection (128-bit encrypted). All they need is a basic PC, a web browser, and Internet access. Unlike some competitor solutions that use older client server technology with products like Citrix, Twinfield’s services have been entirely designed and developed from the ground up for use over the Internet. They are only available online, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Customers pay a fixed subscription per user per month, based on the type of rights the user has on the system. Twinfield’s web service has been certified for accounting purposes by a big-5 consulting firm.

This powerful use of today’s internet technology means that D²C and Twinfield can deliver economies of scale for their customers. After all, with this concept, users have the same shared software installation but completely separate data storage over a secure connection. Twinfield also ensures that users are always working with the latest version. And of course Twinfield provides plenty of bandwidth, security, backups, and maintenance as a standard part of the service.

David Terrar, Managing Director of D2C, said “The Software as a Service concept is the way to go for small and medium businesses. As soon as a company has a few PCs and traditional accounting software like Sage, Quickbooks or Access, somebody in the organisation needs to take on all of the responsibilities, complexities and hassles of the IT Manager. With Twinfield they get a world class accounting solution, and somebody else takes on that management headache. “

D2C and Twinfield will be making special pricing and provisions for accounting practices to use Twinfield and promote the solution to their clients. This approach means that, instead of the accountant or their client using one of the traditional products to do the accounts, they both use the same international web service. Either organisation can log into the same system from anywhere at any time via a secure Internet connection. The client gets a better service, and the accountant can spend less time as a bookkeeper and more time as a business advisor. Both organisations have fewer technicalities to deal with. These have been the key ingredients which have meant that 6 out of the 10 largest accounting practices and bookkeeping companies in the Netherlands, such as BDO, ABAB, and LTB, have adopted the Twinfield approach.

Andre Kwakernaat, CEO of Twinfield international, said “We are really excited about working with the D2C team. They have a long track record in implementing accounting and ERP solutions, as well as direct experience of the differences in implementing a web based service rather than traditional software. I am sure that together we will be able to make Twinfield the no. 1 online accounting solution in the UK.”

D2C will continue to provide collaboration, extranet, intranet and content management system solutions to complement their new focus on the online accounting service. David Wynn, Operations Director of D2C, added “We will be offering new customers and accounting practices free conversion from Sage and several other accounting products as part of our proposition.”
